the king of snakes. (22'o8'o2)
[the taizé fragments - story that told us brother luc. and my feelings.]
there lived a king of snakes in the lake. he was very dangerous. one day a stranger came to the
village near the lake. he told the people he can defeat the snake king. he went to the shore and
when the mighty king went outside the water to eat the stranger, he said he wasn't afraid. asked
how it could be he told the king he knew his secret, the true name of his. there's an enormous
power in the true names. once you know them, you can get the point much easier.
in your life there are different snakes on your way. you encounter them all the time. sometimes
they're hidden deep inside of you, sometimes you see them on the streets as they hang over other
people's bodies. but once you find their real names, you shouldn't be scared anymore. you can
get rid of them, their spell doesn't work anymore. learn to find their names...
having no time. (22'o8'o2)
everybody says: "i don't have any time. i should have made that or this, but i have not managed."
you have a job or you study, you have friends, family, there's a lot of events you want to go
and so forth and so on. but in the afternoon you arrive home and (thinking what to do first)
you switch on the tv. you're not really watching anything, only tunning from channel to channel.
or you sit in front of the computer. instead doing anything useful, you begin to play freecel
and when you realize it after an hour, you get angry about yourself. i'm talking about my own
experience, but i guess i'm not the only one having similar problem. wasting time.
thinking about it under an influence of "living simplier in consumer society" workshop and the
experience shared there i stumbled around an idea i'd like to bring into life and maybe you can
use it as well. whenever you're tired or just lazy and you can't push yourselves to any serious
work, take a piece of paper and leave a message for your friend or a family member. something
cheerful, kind... it could be a quotation, a verse from the bible or your own couple of sentences.
or you may just leave it somewhere to be found by to you unknown person. i think it can do a lot.
i'll try.
