¶ north was impressive. it was in germanic lands @ three locations: documenta in kassel, mathew barney in koln and manifesta in frankfurt. these were three totally different projects of cultural production in the context of contemporary art. personally i was having great time with tsotso. we were upersuper company capable to consume, reflect and criticize the approaches and the results. short review for me and for you: platform 5 is documenta 11 exhibition which is notably fair and important for its content but inaccurate at choosing the artists and placing the whole thing up. the content was about - according to four previous platforms - democracy unrealized, experiments with the thruth, creolite and creolization and under the siege: four african cities. thus we were able to see many works about refugee existentialsm, izrael-palestine continuous misunderstanding, mexican border terror, sorrow and tragedy of everydays... however we are all here to know it and to redifne it over and over again, until we reach __________ . but unfortunatly these works were shown like allienated art pieces in some highart hostile museums while they were talking about topics closely surrounding us on all levels of our daily activities. the impact of technology was definitively missing and ricardo dominguez with the zapatista project was not there either. so the shortest resume possible is 50 % of amazing creativity and good research projects nonreferring with the classical curatorial aprroach and its disabillity to bind art content and its institutionalisation. manifesta was on the other hand very relaxive and the works were much more simple but still trickling through and critical. the impact of the whole as the project from artists to curators for the viewers was consistent and exact in terms of recent rhizomatic structures deriving from production, life, organization and the web. the playground of criticism achieved the mindstorming goal for everyone that can let it go. at the end i'm just mentioning matthew barney's sunday movie show. nothing really to think. it looks like fascinating but extremly boring costume art with weirdness as the high end of a whole story. biogenetic? no way. decorative? yes. i dont get it as weel as i will like to touch it but i can't cause its art!? :-0 he is bytheway the intimate friend of bjork and like lada said the question is not why he is with her but why she is with him. here we go mish-mash tric-trac ... leaving soon again.
