¶ north was impressive. it was in germanic lands @ three locations: documenta in kassel, mathew barney in koln and manifesta in frankfurt. these were three totally different projects of cultural production in the context of contemporary art. personally i was having great time with tsotso. we were upersuper company capable to consume, reflect and criticize the approaches and the results. short review for me and for you: platform 5 is documenta 11 exhibition which is notably fair and important for its content but inaccurate at choosing the artists and placing the whole thing up. the content was about - according to four previous platforms - democracy unrealized, experiments with the thruth, creolite and creolization and under the siege: four african cities. thus we were able to see many works about refugee existentialsm, izrael-palestine continuous misunderstanding, mexican border terror, sorrow and tragedy of everydays... however we are all here to know it and to redifne it over and over again, until we reach __________ . but unfortunatly these works were shown like allienated art pieces in some highart hostile museums while they were talking about topics closely surrounding us on all levels of our daily activities. the impact of technology was definitively missing and ricardo dominguez with the zapatista project was not there either. so the shortest resume possible is 50 % of amazing creativity and good research projects nonreferring with the classical curatorial aprroach and its disabillity to bind art content and its institutionalisation. manifesta was on the other hand very relaxive and the works were much more simple but still trickling through and critical. the impact of the whole as the project from artists to curators for the viewers was consistent and exact in terms of recent rhizomatic structures deriving from production, life, organization and the web. the playground of criticism achieved the mindstorming goal for everyone that can let it go. at the end i'm just mentioning matthew barney's sunday movie show. nothing really to think. it looks like fascinating but extremly boring costume art with weirdness as the high end of a whole story. biogenetic? no way. decorative? yes. i dont get it as weel as i will like to touch it but i can't cause its art!? :-0 he is bytheway the intimate friend of bjork and like lada said the question is not why he is with her but why she is with him. here we go mish-mash tric-trac ... leaving soon again. ¶ sometimes there are books helping you clear out thoughts and thinking. while having a lot of errands around to do, i am thinking they can't be essential. they could be easy to handle cause there are so many images in my head that are making me alive. ....i have always wanted to create a theatrical production with a forest of disco balls hanging from the ceiling at the level of the performers' heads. i chose not to pursue such an endeavor upon realizing just how financially draining it would in fact be. for the image to be effective, my calculations confirm the requirement for at least one hundred disco balls in total. mirrored disco balls cost, on average, between one hundred and two hundred canadian dollars per unit. renting is, of course, always on option. for whatever reason, images are all that we have left.... Unrehearsed Beauty by Jacob Wren, 1998 its astonishing outside. its dark at one p.m. (12:14)(comments:2)
¶ strange days behind me. working on several projects at once. and as he said its time for priorities and time to jump over. and than...our friend is coming to visit. to see what ljubljana is all about and what he would like to give. from dan inbetween: .... instead of first defining what i want to do and then deductively trying to reach that point, i simply start coding on my first ideas, change focus often, start all over again, in short: work inductively. while i refuse the label "artist" due to the various connotations attached to such a word, by now i think this inductive style of working can be safely described as "artistic". be aware that in this line of definition, most open-source developers are artists.... i am definately into left. like said yesterday in a big corporational company if you want to do anything with art you have to realize the attitude of the left. otherwise its like spring 2001. ¶ while reading steve deitz's cybermuseology text for digital strategies of the living world i came across this project which was realized in the cave . and there are only three 'caves' in the world. so this was exhibited in the futurelab at soon to happened again ae. world skin project is alive photography, virtual animation of a space, an allembodied ultra museum. + yap yupi .. dj nova is dj-ing next week. on 23rd at ac molotov starting cca. at 4 pm. ac molotov is important case regarding human rights in contra relations to kapital rights. the event is devoted to open worlds, with aim for repolitization and social decapitalism as we wrote for you in press release. be the best - not only today - and believe in change (20:09)(comments:2)
¶ i'm terribly tired. it's the end of the week and i have a feeling of running around up until this moment. now i'm sitting and you are sitting so just rest and see this buliding. these are the guys we are inviting for a festival ultraskin. the festival is in a way cosmetic but the mindstorm people always seem intrsg to work with. afterall i like working with people. i had some really bad technical troubles today at my working place. working with w..nt is really a NighTmare. they dont have a safe mode option which has been driving me even more euphoric since i couldn't stop lol-ing. so i had to call the real computer freak, like ussually. otherwise i'm looking forward to tuesday. its the foo bar happening again. it should be scary! and on wednesday i'm off to london and la rochelle. two islands. la rochelle is a university on atlantic coast in france. its sounds exotic for me, a journey to the unknown. you will surely find some blogs here about genetics, digital music and software manipulation.
